History

The 1851 Map of Newburyport shows this house being owned by one “A. Williams.” From what I’ve found, I believe this to be Captain Abraham Williams (1787-1851). He passed away in December of 1851, and this house may have been an investment property, as his Estate mentions several properties across the city, including “the house and land situated on Atkinson St. called the Wilson house lot.”
